மாற்றத்தை நோக்கி: உயிரும் உயிரினங்களும்
Towards Change
life and all living beings in a changing climate
Two days of films, art and voices, in a house in Chromepet. Documentaries from Tamil Nadu with conversation after each one. An art showcase of climate change as our neighbours witness it in everyday life. And on Sunday evening, an open mic where anyone can take five minutes in any language.
We are partners to Climate Week India this year, and this is our contribution: not a conference about the climate, but a weekend of looking at it together, close to home.
Towards Change — 3 and 4 October, Chromepet.
The two days
Saturday 3 Oct
Documentaries from Tamil Nadu, followed by a conversation.
Climate change as our neighbours witness it in everyday life.
Documentaries and conversation.
Sunday 4 Oct
Speech, recital, spoken word, song. Five minutes, any language.
The films
Two documentaries screen across the weekend, each followed by a conversation.
Beneath The Panel — The Hidden Losses of India’s Solar Parks
A decade ago, farmers in South India gave up nearly 4,000 acres for one of the world’s largest solar parks. The film follows what happened to them afterwards — especially those who could not migrate and still live along the fenced borders — and asks what a fair transition would actually have to mean.
Produced by Whiteboard Narratives for The Migration Story, with support from Internews’ Earth Journalism Network. Story and producer: Aparna Ganesan. · Watch the trailer
